Our CDPH-approved Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) Training Program provides students with the knowledge, skills, and hands-on experience needed to deliver safe, compassionate care in long-term care and healthcare settings. Through a combination of classroom instruction, skills lab practice, and supervised clinical training in a skilled nursing facility, students learn essential patient care skills, communication techniques, infection control, and professional standards required by the California Department of Public Health (CDPH). Graduates are fully prepared to take the state certification exam and begin a rewarding career as a Certified Nurse Assistant.
Description of Required Coursework:
Our CNA coursework is structured to build strong knowledge and hands-on confidence through daily reinforcement and practice. Students progress through all 17 state-required theory modules, covering essential topics such as patient rights, communication, body mechanics, infection control, vital signs, long-term care, and end-of-life care. Each day includes a short quiz to strengthen understanding and prepare students for the written certification exam.
In the skills lab, students learn and practice all state-tested nursing assistant skills, including hand hygiene, transferring and positioning residents, measuring vital signs, catheter care, perineal care, feeding, dressing, and other core procedures required for safe, compassionate care. These skills are taught through instructor demonstrations and repeated hands-on practice to ensure mastery.
By completing all 17 modules and skills — reinforced through daily quizzes and guided lab practice — students graduate fully prepared and confident to take the California CNA state exam and begin their careers as Certified Nurse Assistants.
